Where do I go from here?
Well the UKVAC community has meets a few times a year which are advertised on the newsgroup and open to absolutely everyone! They are a good opportunity to buy PCBs and parts, talk to people who share your enjoyment of games, play on someone else’s games (!) and maybe even get a little drunk as the day goes on too!
Its amazing how much you can learn too, by plying someone with alcohol… Gets them to explain things in great detail, far better than just reading from a website as if you don’t understand something you can get them to rephrase it!
Anyhow, on a last minute goodbye kind of note, here’s a few tips on storing PCBs:
- Don’t give them prolonged exposure to sunlight.
- Don’t feed them after midnight (no wait that’s Mogwai’s…)
- Wrap them securely in bubble wrap to protect the circuitry, especially from dust.
- Some people stack them in separate boxes called ‘pizza boxes’ but I find this approach unfeasible with large collections.
- Label them so you don’t have to remove the bubble wrap to see what they are, also mark their working state.
- Label your looms with what they’re for and which way up they go (example - “Sega 16 - PARTS”)
Well I hope this guide has been helpful, please sign my guestbook as its
looking a little sorry for itself!
Thanks for reading!!!
Byeeee!!!!
